Finance Manager
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid / Remote-Friendly)
Position Type: Volunteer Role
Reports To: Treasurer & Executive Director (or Assistant Director of Operations)
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week
Position Summary
1
The Finance Manager is a key operational volunteer role responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial administration of g3 Games. Working closely with the Treasurer and Executive Director, this position helps maintain accurate financial records, track budgets, oversee financial procedures, and ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or administrative experience who wants to make a meaningful impact in a growing nonprofit organization.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Administration & Bookkeeping
Maintain and update accurate financial records, including income, expenses, and reimbursements.
Process invoices, receipts, and payments in coordination with the Treasurer.
Track event-related expenses and program budgets.
Categorize and reconcile transactions in financial software or spreadsheets.
Budget Tracking & Reporting
Support the Treasurer in monitoring organizational budgets and spending trends.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Provide financial updates to the Executive Director and Board as needed.
Help maintain transparent documentation for audits, grant applications, and compliance.
Policies, Procedures, & Compliance
Support the development and implementation of financial policies, controls, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial guidelines and best practices.
Assist with annual filings, tax-related documentation, and record retention standards.
Help maintain organized, accessible, and secure financial files.
Donations & Fundraising Support
Track donations and ensure accurate donor records.
Provide financial oversight for fundraising campaigns and special initiatives.
Coordinate with the Treasurer to support compliance and reporting requirements for grant-funded activities.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with the Treasurer on all financial matters.
Work with the Executive Director to assess resource needs for programs and events.
Communicate financial insights, risks, and recommendations when appropriate.
Attend leadership meetings as needed.
Qualifications

Required
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
Basic understanding of bookkeeping or financial record-keeping.
Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Comfortable with spreadsheets, budgeting tools, or financial software.
Alignment with g3 Games’ mission, vision, and guiding principles.
Reliability and timely communication.
Preferred
Experience in accounting, finance, nonprofit management, bookkeeping, or related fields.
Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles.
Experience using QuickBooks, Wave, Google Sheets, or other financial tools.
Previous volunteer or nonprofit experience.
