Welcome to Gather Game Grow!
Hello friends, players, and future members,
If you’ve been rolling dice with us for years or you’ve just discovered g3 Games for the first time, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
This post is our official “howdy” from g3 Games as we launch our Gather Game Grow blog. This space is created for our community and for anyone curious about how tabletop gaming can strengthen connection, spark joy, and help people grow together.
Why Gather Game Grow?
If you’ve spent any time with us, you’ve probably heard the three words that guide everything we do. Gather. Game. Grow.
Gather is about creating welcoming spaces where people feel they belong. That might be around a table, in a Discord channel, at a community event, or through shared stories.
Game is our heartbeat. Tabletop games give us structure for creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and laughter. They invite us to show up as ourselves.
Grow is what happens when play is intentional. We build confidence, social skills, leadership, resilience, and community, often without even realizing it.
This blog exists at the intersection of those three ideas. It’s where we’ll explore the why behind what we do, share the how for bringing play into more spaces, and celebrate the who - the people who make g3 Games what it is.
Why a Blog & Why Now?
As g3 Games continues to grow, we saw a need for a shared place to reflect, learn, and invite others into our mission.
This blog is for:
Our members, who want deeper connection, behind-the-scenes insights, and tools to level up their play and leadership.
Our volunteers and partners, who help bring our vision to life in tangible ways.
The public, including families, educators, professionals, and community leaders who are curious about tabletop gaming as a force for good.
You’ll find stories from our tables, practical resources, thoughtful takes on gaming culture, and reflections on building and strengthening community through play. Some posts will be light and playful. Others will go deeper. All of them are rooted in the belief that games matter because people matter.
What’s Ahead for g3 Games
This year is an exciting one for g3 Games.
We’re preparing to launch official programs that reflect our mission in action, including Play It Forward, a program designed for our community to engage with and provide support to Austin-local and other nonprofits.
We’re also building toward a public advocacy and resource hub. This will be a place where people can learn about tabletop gaming, best practices, community impact, and the many ways games support social, emotional, and community development.
This blog will be a part of that effort. It’s where ideas can be shared openly, curiosity is encouraged, and our values are modeled in real time. Those values include hospitality, creativity, and care for one another.
An Invitation
If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this first post, it’s this: You are invited.
Invited to read, reflect, and respond.
Invited to try a new game, host a table, or welcome someone new.
Invited to see play not as something extra, but as something essential.
If you gather weekly or once in a while, if you’re a strategist, storyteller, rules expert, or enthusiastic beginner, there’s a seat for you here.
Thank you for being part of g3 Games, and thank you for helping us build a future where our communities grow stronger through play!
See you at the table.
